I use a combination of IEMT (Integral Eye Movement Therapy), NLP - Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Provocative Thaerapy and Hypnosis/Hypnotherapy. To see an example of how I work, watch the videos below. There are six in all, (it was an hour long session) and was with a client who was experiencing Anxiety. To simply see the results watch part six. N.B. I've had reports back that a couple of people have felt better just by watching these sessions. While I maintain a healthy level of scepticism about this, I'm happy that this has been the case. If you do have a particular response to any of these clips, please give me a call on 07903 713234 or email me a couple of lines on info@westessexhypnotherapy.co.uk, I don't want any money for it - just feedback.
Here's a brief overview of the methods I use. There are a far more substantial articles available on the Internet, although the summaries below should give you all the information you need to make an informed decision. Psychology Today
Source: Psychology Today Hypnotherapy is the name given for any therapy done in conjunction with Hypnosis, and is generally classified in the Complimentary Medicine/Alternative Therapy field. Other definitions (and there are many!) align it more as a branch of psychotherapy. It has a huge body of rigorous scientific research that validates the amazing claims of Hypnotherapy with tangible and documented results. This has lead to its acceptance as a widely scientifically acknowledged psychological and therapeutic discipline and a long-standing reputation for effectiveness among the general public.
Contrary to popular opinion, Hypnosis is actually a state of heightened responsiveness, not sleep or unconsciousness; you will be in full control of your own body and mind during our sessions - Hypnosis is a completely safe and harmless form of therapy. It can help you with a broad spectrum of issues - see the sidebar on the left for a list of issues that can be helped by Hypnosis In my Hypnotherapy sessions here in West Essex, you'll be guided into a state in which psychological and physical changes, beyond normal conscious capability become possible. Any it'll happen easily and swiftly. Modern Psychology Magazine

(Neuro-Linguistic Programming) can be used with great effect in a therapeutic & coaching context. Considered to be a Solution focused Brief Therapy, its therapeutic application and approach differs from mainstream psychiatry - i.e. 'Problem & Solution', and retrospective analysis. It instead favours present and future orientated behavioural changes (after all, we live in the now, and the future is yet to come). This does away, to the greater extent, with the need to visit any past traumatic events. Neuro Linguistic Programming can sound a bit like jargon - so here's the breakdown:
In summary, NLP is concerned with the 'How' and not the 'Why'. Knowing the structure of the problem makes it easy to break and build something new. Training and Development Journal

The process and algorithms of the technique answers the question, "How did the client learn to feel this way, about that thing?" and applies specific change at the right place within the client's model of the world. By building resources inside the problem state, IEMT brings the client more into the present and enables the client to stay out of past negative experiences permanently. For the practitioner, IEMT is about precise calibration. Unlike other treatments involving eye movements, with this model the eye movements are neither random nor simply a repetitive left and right movement in the hope that change will occur. The training provides the tools for the practitioner to precisely calibrate which axis through which to move the eyes enabling change work to occur with precision and at a remarkable speed.
